Quiet, Residential Living on Folly Beach, SC

Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Center Street is one of the most residential neighborhoods on Folly Beach, Sunset Point.  Nature abounds as trees protect most of the homes and everywhere you look there are gardens and lush landscaping.  Pride in ownership is evident here, and most of the homes are occupied as primary residences.  But the funky side of folly fits in here too.

Sunset Point consists of all the lots west of West 3rd Street, on Hudson and Indian Avenues and Shadow Race Lane.  Being on this side of the island offers truly spectacular colors in the evening sky, earning the name Sunset Point.  The neighborhood is adjacent to the Folly River, and many homes enjoy wide views of water and marsh.  Some properties have deep water Folly River access.

There are about 100 properties in this neighborhood, with homes ranging from 1500-3500 square feet, and prices are at $400,000 and up.  One of the best features of the neighbohood is that public water and sewer are at the homesite, eliminating the need for a spetic system.  There is a voluntary homeowners association, which is one-of-a-kind on Folly Beach.  There are wide streets to travel on whether by bike or golf cart, or out for an evening stroll.  There is extremely little vacation rental activity, which helps with the peace and serenity.

Everyone knows their neighbors and life is a little slower in this area. It is a great place to raise kids and own pets without the dangers of beach traffic. The beach is a short walk away, but most owners enjoy a golf cart ride in order to bring the cooler and chairs along.  Come join in the fun and enjoy the slow pace of life in Sunset Point.
